Kotuko is a small kennel situated in Newcastle (New South Wales, Australia), here we enjoy a range of activities including free-range beach running and surfing, bushwalking, swimming in Lake Macquarie and road walking. I have been involved with purebred dogs/breeding and showing since 1977 beginning when my elder sister bought a Great Dane and started to show her. I saw an Alaskan Malamute for the first time in 1986 at a local dog show, he was BISS BIS Aust Ch Huskypak Aussie Bear, owned by Vanda Parker and Mick Mooney. I fell in love with the breed instantly.
In 1993, Vanda Parker and Mick Mooney (Paharey Kennels) were kind enough to give me a stunning puppy bitch, who became BISS Aust Ch Paharey Snoballs HOF aka Ali, who far exceeded all expectations I had of her, especially for my first dog.
Occasionally I have puppies available from dogs of excellent quality who possess ALL the following traits:- a powerful and tireless gait, a substantial and muscular body with heavy bone, large snow shoe feet, a broad, deep, well developed chest and moderately angled shoulders and hindquarters, and a true to type head; correctly broad, deep and wedge shaped and of course that typically friendly and affectionate Alaskan Malamute temperament.
All breeding stock is hip X-Rayed, eye certified, thyroid tested and Ch'd rated. All pups are X-Rayed clear of Ch'd at 6 weeks of age.
